Donny Deutsch, Pedestal Man
by Marc H. RudovOn July 20, 2005, Donny Deutsch, host of CNBC’s The Big Idea, had Bernard Goldberg on his show. Goldberg was there to discuss his new book, The 100 People Who Are Screwing Up America (and Al Franken is #37).
Unbeknownst to Goldberg, Donny and five other liberal panelists were there to ambush him — after all, most of the people on Goldberg’s list of 100 are liberals. Even though all the panelists were trying to excoriate Goldberg, all admitted to not reading his book. The roudy segment was such an embarrassment for CNBC that the show’s producer, Marlilyn Cutler, is rumored to be resigning over the incident.
Especially interesting was watching panelist Linda Stasi, NY Post TV critic, relentlessly grill Goldberg, firing multiple questions at him without letting him answer one of them. Finally, after his impressive patience had expired, Goldberg told Stasi to shut up. When Deutsch, incredulous at what he had just heard, asked Goldberg why he told Stasi to shut up, Goldberg retorted: “Because she won’t shut up.”
Donny Deutsch went ballistic. He couldn’t believe a man would have the audacity to tell a woman to shut up, as if her gender bestows on her the right to be rude. Deutsch was so worried that girls watching the show would learn bad male behavior, that he certainly didn’t care about the bad, double-standard female behavior these impressionable young girls would be learning! Deutsch probably doesn’t have to worry either way, given that only 70,000 people watched the show.
In addition to being a liberal, Donny obviously puts women on a stupid pedestal. Women can blast men, and men have to take it. Right, Donny? A little advice, Donny: If you’re going to let women play in the big, tough world, let them suffer the consequences of their behavior and words. They can handle it.

I just watched a segment on the O’reilly Factor. Afterwards I emailed Donny Boy.
I did’nt even know the show existed. I definitely won’t ever watch it now.
The Big Idea….hah!…what a joke that is!
It is wussy guys like Donny boy who are rpartly esponsible for the gender war we are in.
This man is a weak spineless metrosexual. He is in no way a real man. In his world, the women rule…..and he is their follower.
He was even sickening to watch on the clip on The O’Reilly Factor.

I saw that segment on the O’Reilly Factor too. He had every right to tell that woman to shut up. How can someone answer your barrage of questions when you won’t SHUT UP enough for someone to get in a word. And how in the world can you debate something you know NOTHING of? I remember seeing ads for Donny’s program when I used to work for Kinko’s. I will never watch it now.

BULLCRAP ! YOU ARE AN OUTRIGHT LIAR ! Goldberg was not “ambushed” at all…he was rude and an impolite jerk…the panelists were not liberal…wanting someone to be polite to a lady does not mean you are a liberal…it was not an embarrasment for CNBC, it was an embarrasment for Goldberg.
“his impressive patience” WHAT SPIN ! He would never answer the question…why do you apologize for such a disrespectful to ladies person…?
“Donny Deutsch went ballistic”. Oh b.s. no he didn’t .
He told Goldberg to reply and Goldberg never did.
You paint an EXTREMELY incorrect picture of what was said.

Of course tyou didn’t even know the show existed..you were as usual watching the propaganda balgney network known as GOPNews…errr…FOXNews. That is why you guys are so misinformed on world events. You stay glued to that one damn channel which is just Al Jazeera for America.

ah yea!
Anonymous…is your name Donny?…or maybe you are the producer of ‘The Big Idea’…oh wait!…she resigned after this show…I would guess that she was disgusted by the show herself and said “see ya!”.
Any by the way: what exactly is the Big Idea on the Big Idea? The host doesn’t ‘host’…so the show is a circus….no time I guess for that Big Idea….hehe
Anonymous…you are a liberal I see. What gave it away was your name-calling. Habits are hard to break I know…but this tactic is just plain worn out.
You make assumptions about things you don’t even know. Another liberal trait. I watch plenty of other shows. I’m an independent.
Less than 70,000 viewers watch Donny Boy each night (how does this idiot get advertisers?) while Nielsens gives O’Reilly 4-6 million viewers nightly. Fox as a whole is beating out the competition. Maybe nobody watches Donny because they are watching Fox. By the way, I do go to other networks
Anyways another liberal trait is using words like ‘EXTREME’ as in extremely misleading….e.g., calling me a liar. Well, I saw the clips and my assessment is nuts on. Looks like the columnist saw it that way too…as did other bloggers…I’d guess a whole lot of the 4-6 million O’Reilly viewers saw the same thing. You are the liar here. Not us. And you are outnumbered Big Time.
That was NO lady. That was a CUNT. Goldberg gets extra points for being as professional as he was. I would have grabbed her freakin’ throat and bitch-slapped her, until she turned blue.
You liberals keep on losing….and losing…and losing….and losing…
If I lost as much as you guys, over the past 25 years, I guess I’d be pretty angry too.
Fortunately, I’m happy and optimistic. All the trends favor us. The fact that Bush and Roberts enrage you weenies is more icing on the cake.
Donny Boy is lucky to even be working.

The only thing you got correct was that I’m a liberal.
More viewers on FOX does not mean it is a more valid or truthful network.I think they both are poor networks myself. I never was defending CNBC, I was saying Goldberg never answered the questions and he acted like a big jerk and was very rude. And I love how you say not to engage in name calling than name call yourself.
And all the trends favor you ? Like what trends ? A worsening environment and endless war maybe…
Have a good weekend.

I’m gonna give you a two points for the name calling comment. I thought about that myself hours after the post. It has been a rather hectic day. I should have told you about the Denis Doctrine then.
Anyways, I have a Denis Doctrine. That means anytime a liberal resorts to name-calling against me, I do the same in return.
tit-for-tat. Every single time. No passes for any liberal.
Now sometimes you liberals resort to nothing but name-calling (you did not, but everything you said was still wrong)and it’s hard to keep up with the count. Sometimes I just pass along the count to the next liberal. These sorry bastards don’t know what’s hitting them sometimes…hehe
So, yea, …you resorted to
name-calling….I was compelled…by the Denis Doctrine…to resort to name-calling…gotta even the score..
anyways….yea…looks like it’s gonna be a nice weekend…have a good one..
